I find hollowtech outboard bearings seem to wear out more quickly, especially on my mountain bike. Square taper cartridge bottom brackets seem to last forever, even cheap ones.

The nice thing about BFs is that they use normal parts. So hubs, seat post, etc, can be off the shelf parts. The pivots (at least on my Crusoe) are super simple, just pull the bolt and grease it.

Your brake pads look to be near the top of the slot. This bike wasn't designed for even moderately wide tires. Maybe a 25 or 26mm tire would fit, but even that's a gamble.
