I would be more inclined to spend a smaller amount of money on a second groupset. the TT bike could be cheaper anyways since you could ditch the brifters

I was of the understanding that you couldn't exceed a difference of 16 teeth on the chainrings and have the FD's maintain clean shifting, which is why you have 54-38 and 50-34, for example.

The FD is already at the bottom of the braze-on. I would have to dremel THROUGH the braze-on in order to get the FD low enough to maintain decent shifting.
