plus one on the 48/16. especially for flat areas....

plus one on the 48/16. especially for flat areas. gives me the speed i like while maintaining a balance for my knees. 48/18 was good for hilly spots, like a lot of sf.

plus 1. do it yourself this time because you'll only regret not building it yourself when you have a bike you aren't happy with. it's the only way i have found to get it EXACTLY how i wanted it.

Go to north Brooklyn cycles. The guys are kinda dickish but they have some great selections with the ideal frame style you'd want. State bike co is awesome too.
