Thanks for the links! Those drive rivets seem to be what I'm looking for. And yeah the bike isn't a Raleigh USA. As far as I know it was made in Japan.

Point number 1 isn't so obvious now that there are split belt options that work on non-split frames. As far as I'm aware they don't wear down significantly faster than normal belts....

The ball bearings themselves are all scratched up by now. Since the individual ball bearings can be removed I might just replace them and keep the bracket assembly itself.

The bike was originally gold, yes. Once that peeled off the original owner decided to stay with the plating underneath. Redoing that exact style...
