The dya before a race I usually do a really hard...

The dya before a race I usually do a really hard ride for about 2 hours , then the day of the ride I usually do about a 2 hour warmup at really high spin buld a good sweat.
rest and then race.

IF you race at this level you have a pretty good idea...

I'm not sure but I think you need to be a cat 4 to race masters anyway.
Cat 5 racing sucks and is dangerous, there is always a crash, mostly because it's a bunch of guys with great lngs and legs...

You can read all the books you want, and follow all the programs that are out there but until you get tested in a lab you will never really know what your limits are.
I would try and find a college...
