I took it to a bike refinisher. They sanded away the anodizing and then applied paint to simulate the gold anodized look.

Thanks for the feedback. The bend in the housing has been bugging me. I used the original lengths of the old housings as a guide, but the seem a bit long.

I'm going to fiddle more with the taping....

As for the decals, they're the peel and stick variety off of Ebay.

Yes, it's a powdercoat. I stripped it down myself and then had it powdercoated a candy blue. It's not an original color but I think that the decals and the chrome really standout with that color.
