I spent probably too much time sanding (almost a waste since I'll get it blasted and coated within a month). I used a 100 grit to go through the clearcoat, then switched to a 220 to sand the decals...

I sanded them off, carefully for the most part. But in person and close up you can tell where the finishes are different from the sanded basecoat and the original clearcoat.

I love lugs... but that bike makes me love them less. I understand the desire for a certain geometry, but that vertical bar isn't very attractive either.

A slight warning though, there may be legal ramifications for using bear spray (or even dog sprays like Halt) on people as opposed to regular pepper spray.
