I am surprised no mention of Cannondale Cyclocross. I have the disc version 06. I commute on it every day, 14 miles each way.
I noticed there is a disc version in 08 also.

I am sure the links used are the same model. Actually it was extra pieces from the same chain. When I do rejoin the link, I turn the tool till it looks even on both sides. I do use my eyes for this....

I have made few repairs on my chain (using an existing link pin, to repair or shorten the chain). Eventually that link would break. The pin comes of the hole.
There must be a way to tap...
