I forgot to mention that I would just ride it as-is.

People still occasionally sell Shimano dropouts on ebay. Not sure about the 1010b style though.

I'm not sure what the minimum amount of missing paint would be. I think to get it down to 2" would require wet rags under aluminum foil. That might work down to 1", I'm not sure. Next time I feel...
