I don’t race and I prefer to stretch my back and shoulders when coasting down a hill as opposed to pedaling hard and running out of gears.

40t front and 11-42 rear. Climbing includes 20% grades on gravel roads and the gearing works fine for me. If the bike was loaded I would want more gearing.
