^^ I don't think I'd categorize a Spark as an all-mtn rig, with a 70° head angle and 100mm travel. That's solidly XC; Genius would be more like it but still can't hold a candle to the SB95.

Hands down my recommendation would be go with a yeti SB95 Comp - - but at 2,900, it's a bit over your price range. But, dang, Yeti SB + 29er + reasonable price tag? You couldn't lose.
