The majority of the time, the bike will be used for riding on pavement. I would like to take it out on trails too, but the trails that I have in mind are hard-packed dirt with little to no heavy rock...

HerrKaLeun, thank you for your reply. I think that you are mistaken about the 2019 Escape 0 Disc. It has the 10 spped Deore mountain bike groupset.
