I'd like to have the confidence that I would always finish a 300k in the daylight. But, I have finished before the sun set, and I have finished after.

To answer the OP's question, 1.5-2 months is plenty of time. My suggestion would be to "ride your ride" and not worry about hammering it down. And remember to eat! 300k is starting to get into the...
