It just seemed as if I noticed that after resting a bit behind the guy and it was my turn to pull, or when I just pulled ahead if he got too tired, I would feel really strong for about a minute or so...

Do you have any idea what some of the major hills are like? All I was able to find out was 2 cat 5 climbs in the first 8k, and one 5 on the last stretch of 8k the other way.
