the cost of 3d printing for the average consumer is still significantly high, right now I'd just consider this a new tool in manufacturer's technologies. Even myself, who has access to 2 3d printers...

Yeah, I'm looking forward to working on the bike. I have yet to decide if I can afford a flip flop wheelset, or if I'll just get a new rear hub and teach myself to lace rims.
