Ah, thanks for the tip. Just tried it and it does indeed add a noticeabley wider beam. Still plenty bright in the center too.

On the topic of the TL-1100: The light is nice and bright, if somewhat sensitive to aim. However, if you primarily use the belt clip I would look for something else. It is very secure when it slides...
