Im glad it works for you, but I would never do that. I hope rim brakes, not disc? I use degreaser to clean my bike; wd40 is only last resort, to break something loose.

IMHO you always get wet, or at least damp, riding a bicycle. Weather doesn't matter; what you're wearing doesn't matter. (Only exception is if you're underdressed in winter)

I do not have a particular recommendation, but I will say that waterproof shoes are guaranteed to make/keep your feet wet (waterproof gloves will do the same for your hands, IMO).

Seriously. In my experience, 99% of mechanicals are flat tires, the rest are things a multi-tool can't fix- frayed cable, broken saddle bolt. Yes, I carry one; but I've never used it.
