If it happens with every pedal stroke, and you have already replaced the pedals (and they are tight), with no change, then I think it can only be the bottom bracket, crank attachment, or chainring...

All this talk about new bikes. I work on my own bikes, and will not buy a bike with hidden cockpit cables. I don't care if I lose 3 or 4 watts. (not that I have a lot to spare).
