And where might one reasonably obtain a FW crank that won't cost more then the whole bike ...??? I wouldn't mind if it looked like a paperbike as long as it worked...and was reliable ..

You might want to investigate cell balancing .... we just charge ours at a very low rate for a long time to balance all the cells ... no problems , and only once in a while do you need to do this ......

It should be even easier to rig up a NIMH pack that would easily power the bike ...New Nimh have developed , and are Cheaper and easier to charge than the lipos ...Like the idea of front wheel drive...
