There's no substitute for good clips and good bike shoes (even if they're mtn shoes and clips). They make the hills easier. Changing shoes is a minimal amount of time (if you're using speed laces)...

I don't know that I would even worry about tri bars for a sprint. Just use the drops and you don't even have to worry about the extra weight. Maybe if you move into the Olympic or Half distance it...
