I also have a 2008 Madone 5.1. I paid $2300 for mine. Find one if you can. I also tried the 4.5 (same frame as 4.7). The 5.1 was a better ride. I love that bike.

This was one of the reasons I got the 5.1 instead of the 4.5. I test rode both pretty extensively and I just wasn't even remotely happy with the brakes on the 4.5 after trying the 5.1.
