awesome... after trying to use brute force... this method worked... I tried it initially with no success but I just kept spinning the crank faster and faster and it finally stuck.

Would I see any benefits from using the messenger on my bike as opposed to keeping my tempo?

If there isn't any real world benefits, I will just keep the tempo.
