I had to get it hot enough for the sticker to discolor before the glue was soft enough to scrape off...the sticker got so soft, it still only came off a bit at a time....

Deore LX isn't as good as XT, but it's still pretty good. And Mavic rims are generally excellent. If they're salvageable, having them repaired and trued by a shop is definitely worth it.

Yep...and alloy and carbon frames don't do well long-term with the abuse they get. Even though the frames are very high-end and expensive, they're ultimately disposable.

I have 700Cx37 Continental EcoSports on mine, but the clearances are REALLY close at the fork crown. 38mm Schwalbe Marathons did NOT clear the crown. I'd recommend not going over 35mm.

As someone who weighs 260, and used to weigh 340, I wouldn't consider 225 to be very heavy. Like mstateglfr said, get the saddle that fits your butt. I ride on a Swift just fine.
