Thanks! I'm really happy with how it turned out. I felt a little guilty cannibalizing the VO, but I realized that once I converted the Trek to 650b I just wasn't riding the Polyvalent anymore.

I just experienced the exact same thing! Finally went on a "real" ride with the Campy shifters (not just around the neighborhood) and had shimmy above 15ish. A knee on the top tube solved most of it....

I know that going from 700x32 to 650Bx38 lowered the trail a touch, but not enough that I think would make a really significant difference.

I get wobble at around 15mph as well. Seems to be a bit of a quirk for the big Trek 71X...
