Simpleton's question on shifters

Just got my CAAD 9 set up and adjusted but realized I need to move my shifters up. They're too low on my handlebars.
Will I need to re-adjust every thing again or will moving them up not affect...

Hip joint and knee pain

Did a hard ride on Saturday.
Saturday evening I had pain at the top of my right kneecap, kinda like a bruise. Feeling it a little when I walk today.
Now today, I'm feeling it in both hip joints....
