the 3500 is still a modern unit where as my old 6500 ultagra is 15ish years old at least. I think I'm gonna just go for the 3500 series shifters and be done with it for now.

thats what I was afraid of, the shifters as a whole are pretty tired, and upgrade may be in order, these are as least 10 years old, hell they were outdated when I was last actively riding 10 years...
