7700 is crisper and more precise than 7800
also bulletproof. 7800 is a bit more fragile and tend to need cleaning and lube to run smoother.

I finally caved and bought the bike
Owner got it in 1983 and rode it for 30km
It the sat in his garage till i picked it up today
