Great job on that build! FWIW, I had a 1974 Motobecane Grand Record frame that had the same happy accident with the stem. I could use pretty much any 22.2 Nitto etc. A true mystery!

Another update:

The Evapo-Rust did a really good job removing the rust. There is some pitting but all in all it looks pretty good. Next up, some cleaner wax on the paint and see if that helps.......

Quick progress report. The post, stem and bottom bracket came out with only mild persuasion needed....

As was suggested by 3alarmer I ground down a 16mm socket and was able to get the cranks off....
