I didn't say don't do them, just limit them. There is nothing wrong with going on fast group rides during late stages of base training, or during the season. They are great for learning tactics, etc...

I would prefer no more then 30 minutes. Although if nothing is closer 40 minutes is OK. Umm anything that has 30 minutes of sustained climbing, but that does sound fun also. I am not picky. :)
