I only mean its "crazy low" for riding in fast drop rides, for mountains the ratio is pretty darn heavy :)

We do try to stop or atleast slow down for stop signs but sometimes it's just not feasible. Like if the guys in the breakaway run it there's a good chance the chasing groups and peloton will run it...

well yes, group rides are inherently dangerous. It's not a "safe" sport but you can do things to make it safer like acting predictable. Screaming hole isn't predictable but I've been guilty of it lol.
