Steel only for me. I'm not against anything else, I just tend to try the make the most of older items (bikes, cars, tractors). Maybe when I can get a 40 yr old CF I'll give it a try.

I'm not nearly as careful as others on this topic. If I get a response from what seems like a legit source, I have no problem providing my address and having folks come to the house. I never...

I'll add my recent headache - trying to rewire a Shimano 3 speed hub. It appears that a special cable is needed, one is that is nutted on both sides (of course I threw the old one out). I'm not...

My 23" 1955 Rudge Galaxy 3 speed is too big. I'd like another 21" road bike (triple preferred). I'm in western NY.

I'll play devil's advocate and vote for #1 (http://www.bikeforums.net/usertag.php?do=list&action=hash&hash=1) . First, I like that it's all original. Second, it's not my money so what do I care...

This is my main squeeze. Only thing I've changed since acquiring from the original owner is the saddle. My go-fast bike doesn't see near as much action.

Anyone looking for an 11-28 7 speed freewheel? Pretty much brand new - used a handful of times. I'd like to go to a more traditional 13/14 - 28 as I just never use the 11.

Thought I'd offer...

I will also add, to Chuckk's point, that riding position is one of the reasons that I have no desire to ride brifters. I ride the hoods <15% of the time, I just find the drops to be more comfortable...
