It makes a lot of sense for TT bikes in my opinion. I'm about to upgrade my TT bike to etap aero. I have two road bikes that I don't plan on switching from mechanical, not worth the cost to me.

I don't like gloves. I've had road rash on my hands and it's awful... but eventually I agree lazy and stopped wearing that.

I wear gloves for crit racing, track racing, MTB or when it's cold.

In my experience I need to be really fresh for the limiter to be my aerobic system. If I have any sort of (even mild) fatigue, pain in my legs is the limiter.
