I wouldn't worry about the lifespan of a Di2 charger. The charger we use at the shop has been in service since 2015(maybe earlier), and gets used a few times a week.It still works like new.

I nearly made the same mistake, but had LB change my order just before the wheels were built. It cost about $100 for the upgrade, but itís worth every penny.
