Would a SRAM 9 speed cassette work with a Campy Veloce 9 speed rear derailleur and shifters?

You probably don't want Time RXEs, they're good pedals, but not that easy to get in (much easier to get out).

Mountain pedals are generally the easiest in/out.

For what its worth, I love my 1500. But test ride both and go with whatever bike feels the most comfortable. Bicycle fit and comfort makes a huge difference on a long ride.
