OK, I see. If similar size stonework was used on the tower, it would be taller than the lime kiln. The one I saw was about 14' tall (although the top stone row was not all there).

I have seen a similar tower on the Eastern Shore of MD. All of the locals called it a lime kiln, used to burn oyster and clam shells down to usable agricultural lime. I don't know if that is legend...
