I think I'm leaning toward silver, too. Seems to work better with the older bike.

Sugino XD2 48/34. Pulled the trigger on it yesterday and also went with the IRD QB-55 107mm bottom bracket, which only cost $29.00 anyway. My 105 BB is 20 years old so I might as well replace it now...

I'm hoping that my stock BB will work with the Alpina, which is square taper, JIS. Even though it's 20 years old, it has low miles and is still very smooth. Could probably use a tuneup though.
