It was my doing. I frayed the end of the cable when I was tuning it.
I was wondering, when a front derailleur cable makes a 180 degree bend at the bottom bracket , does it wear faster?

Maybe the chart is right, for the wrong reason. I am sure there are lots of 65 plus riders who can do 20 mph, but does it really matter? The older you get, the wiser you get.
