I use a Campy 10-speed crank with 8-speed Dura Ace. No problems.

Yes, you can. I'm running 8-speed Dura Ace drivetrain with a 10 speed Campy Centaur UT crankset. No issues. Works great. You'll need to continue to use an 8-speed front derailleur though.
