DC Bike Party monthly ride

Went for the first time last night, now that I have a bike, and maaaaaan what a blast! I figure we had ~1000 people strolling down the streets with a stop at one of the parks and then end point at a...

Rather, beauty of a skateboard is in how simple it is, but the feel of better hardware vs simple maintenance is still extremely noticeable. Bikes, even fixies, are still much more complex.

How you did depends on fun, luck (no spills, no punctures, etc), and if it was within your time limit if you generally have one. Sounds like you did fine man.

Nice review! I do have to say that those brakes don't look too strong for some hills in my area, and good to know that BD throws those on bikes of this level/price range.

I usually turn on red myself, so I understand cars' desires for doing so. If its a not turn-only lane, I too would just stick left if I was going straight.

Did a short ~3 mile last night, or 4, don't really remember, on the way to and from a job. Had to train it into and out of the general area because I'm not a fan of doing like 20 or 10 one way in...

Pinhole puncture-proofing a tire?

Got 700c 23mm tires on my bike, they're slick and I'm guessing more for racing than commuting, so I already caught 3 pin-hole sized flats from bits of glass. What would you guys suggest to remedy...

Must've been a tiny board. Mine are eye-grabbers, and go about as fast as a leisurely bike, so ~10-15mph is easily a done deal.

1993 Raleigh SP 2000

Just curious what my "new" used bike is actually worth. I've checked the bluebook, but it seems that previous owner(s) kit-bashed this one with 1000 model because it has a mix of components from...
