That is a perfectly fine fork and good for the price. The main thing is that Rock Shox forks like that are 100% user serviceable and very easy to do so. Very easy to change...

Just lock the front derailer in the center position with the endpoint adjustments and leave your existing cranks on there. That is how we did it in the old days.
