The Explore doesn't have a barometer. So, it has to rely on GPS for elevation. A barometer is considered the best option for measuring elevation/gain. GPS is known poor...

You don't want to focus on the mirror. If you focus on the mirror, the image in the mirror will be blurry.

These apparently work well. They tend to let motorists recognize that the object is a cyclist. Moving things are like flashing things: they tend to be noticed more than things that are not moving.
