using WD-40 to displace water and dirt isnít a bad practice for rain, as long as you re-apply actual lube afterwords. I prefer wet lube for this scenario and am not a dry-lube user.

I wouldn't buy a new bike with QR either given the opportunity. During COVID choices are a bit more limited however. I hve to re-adjust the brakes on my wife's bike every time I swap wheels.
