I purchased bib shorts on clearance at the LBS. Much better than regular padded shorts because they don't slide down.

Happy to motivate! I did mount the computer back just to determine the distance of a particular route. Either way, I think it is best to ride for the sake of enjoyment and fitness.

I have a nice pot belly also and not muscular either. However, the drop bar has been excellent so far. I still love the hybrid and I am not trying to talk you out of that route.
