Rode 36 miles tonight, and the sound is completely gone. Best I can figure is that maybe the brake pad was rubbing the rotor and riding around wore the pad down a little bit.

Don't be afraid to try other cranksets. I've ridden the 7710s and Campy Record. Someone on this forum recommended the Andel crankset to me. This crankset is sold under a bunch of different names...

All kidding aside, chainline can be a factor too. Just swapped my crank to an All City (chainline was off by a few mm previously ) and now the chainline is dead on. Super quiet.

I wound up with only 3nm of torque on the stem and levers with the carbon assembly paste. Hopefully that's enough. Nothing is moving.

Is it wierd that the spindle is longer on the non-drive side of my bottom bracket? Bottom bracket is a Tange 110.5 mm. It is marked L on the non-drive side, so I'm sure it's not reversed.

Hope you got crankarms too :thumb:. Fixed is a lot of fun. Hard work for sure, but will increase your average speed on other bikes and improve pedalling too.

My current gearing is 45X16 (73.9 gi).

48X17 is very similar at 74.16 gi.

Also, a stiffer crank should make a higher gearing (more gi)...
