I say if you love the frame and ride, buy yourself a new groupset and upgrade! A full set of SRAM Red is what, $1,500? Way cheaper than a $5k new bike!

Greasing the pawls is a good thing. But you don't want to put too much, or the pawls will get 'slow' to deploy, and may cause skipping when you accelerate. Oil will do nothing.

I love the rock-solid Campy lever feel and ergonomics. I'll never get anything else!

I think it's pretty impossible for the saddle tilt angle to change unless the bolts are loose! The Thomson is pretty rock solid in the tilt department!
