Changing 10mm axle to 9mm Axle with sealed bearings on Masi single speed

Bought a new new front wheel for my Masi single speed (Weinmann DP18) which was the same wheel it had on before except for the axle size..

Put the axle on the fork I noticed it was 10mm not 9mm...

The nut on the presta valve is tight and the rest of the valve is still there below it, the valve hole is not worn , the valve snapped above the nut ,
