I use a Garmin Edge bike computer to record all my ride data. Then it just uploads automatically to Strava. I never use Strava itself on my phone to record rides.

I don't know for your R8020's but all Shimano hoods I've seen have little nubs on the inside that lock onto the lever body and hold the hood in place. Check the insides of yours and look for matching...
