700c clincher wheels wasnt an option in '73. I dont think you would see any bike with 700's until Raleigh put them on the Super Course in '77. 27" rims and tires were standard well into the 80's.

Its almost Spring in the midwest. Getting out on the bike more frequently, but still have layoffs of a week sometimes two weeks between rides. And I do physical labor for a job, painting contractor....

I am more likely to ride in my 52/20 than 42/16 even though they are basically the same gear. Bigger chainring and sprocket have more chain wrap and just feels better.

Here it is. It is a 22 1/2. 56cm square on centers. Nice riding bike. Came with the vintage TA water bottle cage and bottle too. And I kinda like the foam handlebar grips also....

Its a red Super Course. Also its a 22 1/2 inch or 57cm frame. Which doesnt show up in the catalogs. Raleighs were 21 1/2, 23 1/2, and 25 1/2.

I had a chrome frame for 30 years. Left it out in a damp garage for several years too. All I ever did was spray WD-40 on it and wiped it down. Some spray wax too.
