Any problem using MTB levers w/ road calipers?

I know the MTB levers are supposed to generate less force, but longer cable pull. Does this really matter or am I fine running MTB levers w/ road calipers?

Injury sucks

Especially when you can ride because of it. Even more when after a few weeks all you will be able to ride is a road bike. I wish it was winter.
