I would not agree with the idea that you don,t get turned away from campsites on a bike in Canada. Very few hiker biker sites compared to say Oregon.

i do not understand why some folks try to dissuade people from buying an actual touring bike when they are interested in touring. i think in life having the right tool for the job makes more sense....

I think of it as putting my money in the bank. I spend a bunch of money on bikes in the fall and winter, work on them and get my money back in the spring. Nobody gets hurt and i stay in the garage...
